Todd Hassler is the Executive Director of RetireReady NJ. RetireReady NJ is New Jersey’s retirement solution for citizens who are not covered by an employer sponsored retirement plan.
Prior to joining the state, Mr. Hassler served as a Senior Investigator with the US Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration, and has more than twenty-five years of experience in the retirement services industry, designing, implementing and managing retirement benefit plans. Mr. Hassler has degrees in Accounting, Human Performance Management, and a master’s degree in Human Resource Development from Villanova University.
Mr. Hassler has joined the state to bring the Secure Choice Savings Program Act of 2019 to realization for the citizens and employers of New Jersey. The introduction of this program will address an institutional inequity that inhibits access of private retirement savings plans to underserved communities consisting of approximately 46% of the citizens of New Jersey.

Many private-sector workers in New Jersey do not have access to a retirement savings plan through their employers. RetireReady NJ is a new state-administered retirement savings program that aims to make saving for retirement easy and attainable. With RetireReady NJ, businesses can help their employees save for retirement in an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) through convenient payroll deductions.
